Our History

Lighthouse was founded in 1982 when web was still science fiction and videotape a novelty.

As a company established for 40 years, it is not surprising that excellence in customer service, innovation and the ability to listen to customers is core to our DNA. Any company with this much history has the right to look back with fondness and pride at past achievements. However, what has enabled this story is not a retrospective purview, but one of forward thinking, planning and weighting our priorities to the future challenges our clients will face, and the technology and design innovations that enable them to deliver their messages.

This timeline bookmarks some of the significant moments across the last 40 years, telling our story to date. The most exciting chapters of our story are yet to be written, they will involve technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and simplifying your complex datasets.

1982

Company formed by Steve Penticost, first client in 1982 was Trafalgar House Group (which included Ideal Homes, Cunard amongst others)

Produced and staged media launch for UK’s first mobile phone network – Unitel Personal Communications – now EE

Created the sales tools and videos for Bombay Sapphire’s acquisition by Bacardi.

Started working for Thomson Holidays (TUI today). Went on to produce over 600 destination videos. Still a client today – 22 years on.
